Crayola® and Dutch Boy® "Chalk It Up" with Chalkboard Paint
Atlanta, GA- June 27, 2007 The new Crayola® Chalkboard Paint by Dutch Boy makes drawing on the wall not only acceptable, but encouraged! Building on the success of Dutch Boy® paint tinted with Crayola colors, Dutch Boy has added Crayola Chalkboard Paint for the 2007 back-to-school season.
This exciting new product is a mess-free and easy way to turn an ordinary wall into something extraordinary. Simply paint a wall with Crayola Chalkboard Paint, let it dry for 24 hours and like magic, the wall becomes a chalkboard where kids can personalize their space. Just like Dutch Boy paint used with the Crayola colors, the Chalkboard Paint is low-odor, washable & scrubbable so parents can feel good about using it in their kids' rooms.
"Crayola Chalkboard Paint by Dutch Boy reinforces our goal of providing products where kids are encouraged to be creative and personalize their space," said Diane Baldovsky, Licensing Manager at Crayola. Crayola Chalkboard Paint is a flat sheen, black paint that will be available at Target in time for back-to-school with an estimated retail price of $9.00 per quart.
Crayola Chalkboard Paint is the latest addition to the Crayola/Dutch Boy partnership.
"We feel this latest collaboration with Crayola reinforces that we are, indeed, 'two brands that play well together,'" said Adam Chafe, Dutch Boy Vice President, Marketing. "The introduction of Crayola Chalkboard Paint by Dutch Boy offers consumers yet another creative way to find the right paint solution for their needs, as well as get their children involved so that they're happy with the end result."
The Crayola colors program with Dutch Boy Paint launched in April 2006 with displays at multiple home improvement stores including Menards, Orchard Supply Hardware, Valu Home Centers, Marvin's Building Materials & Home Centers, Busy Beaver and select Sutherlands. The palette display features 96 exclusive Crayola colors in crayon-shaped paint chips and 16 room idea cards, all inspired by the Crayola brand names. The Crayola partnership is showcased in Dutch Boy's Color Simplicity system and included in their color visualizer software, on-line and at retail.
